Talk:Minolta: how to open XL-401/601 and lubricate a squealing noise

I encountered a squealing and clicking noise before I noticed this section on the page. I solved this noise in a different way, without removing the 4 body shell screws:

In the second picture down "4 body shell screws" I aimed my WD40 with red funnel tube into the cavity between between the yellow wire and the cartridge holding area. On the picture this point is 103mm along and 50mm up. This was where the squealing and clicking noise was coming from.

I have yet to complete a new cartridge after carrying out this procedure, so apart from a cancellation of the noise, I have no other outcomes to report and cannot guarantee its success.
