In 2016 Kodak announced a new Super 8 camera to build a bridge between analogue and digital film. Kodak has not announced a product name yet. The film gauge is Super 8, extended Max-8 Gate. The film load is Kodak Cartridges with 50 FT (15m) The camera features variable speeds (9, 12, 18, 24, 25 FPS). Both the focus and the iris are to be set manually. The Ricoh lens has a fixed focal length of 6mm @1:1.2. There also an optional optical zoom lens from 8 to 48 mm. The new Super 8 camera is equipped with a built-in light metre for the supported speeds of all Kodak film types. For the view finder, the Super 8 camera has an 3,5” display hat has a standard definition video input and supports swivel up to +/- 45 degrees. The integrated battery and charger works via standard USB wall adapter. The control panel works via viewfinder 3,5” TFT LCD and the settings are applied through a jog wheel as user interface.
