Film speeds?[edit]

According to my German manual, it reads ANY speed between 40 and 160ASA, not only those two. --TlatoSMD, 10 Jul 2006, 23:36 (CEST)

This should be easy to check: Just use the wiki's Super 8 Cartridge Notch Ruler -- Jpolzfuss, 11 Jul 2006

I have two S209XL's (from different years) and both have a notch-reading pin that is identical to the notch-reading pin on my S207XL, my Porst Sound 650XL and all of my silent Bauers. It is the same style notch-reading pin that is used in all of the 'modern' Bauers (silent and sound) starting around the C35 or so. The pin has two settings: in and out. That fact and my own filming experiences lead me to believe the S209XL is no different than any other Bauer in this regard. I believe it can only read 40 and 160. Hope this helps. -- Super8er, 20 March 2007

I have checked and metered nearly all common available used cameras on the european Super8market: Some manuals from Bauer and some others have this informations due to he fact that only 40 and 160ASA films were availabele at producing time. Unfortunately these "new" Bauer (also PORST) cameras can not read other ASA than 40 and 160! (Mike from www.film.project-consultant.net)
